Fitness in Retirement

Research about the exercise habits of retirees is limited, but suggests that for most retirement results in a boost in physical activity. Yet there are a few outliers to this trend. Those who worked in physically demanding jobs tend to see their daily activity decrease after retirement, as do the lower end of the socio-economic strata who seem less inclined to make exercise a priority when they leave the workplace for good.
