How about that, in some countries they still have mandatory retirement ages. Also in some countries for certain professions, they have mandatory retirement ages. Judges, pilots, firemen etc.
So how about doing away with that all together? A supervisor should monitor job performance and tell someone if they start falling short of their job requirements. Also, people should have that responsibility themselves. No one would be forced or expected to retire anymore. You could leave, if you can afford it, at 40 or stay, if you can manage, till 80. The world would look different. Pension plans for sure would look different as it would change the actuarial assumptions. Society would change. Well that plus kids buying large homes to take their ailing parents in the annex eventually, and the world would be different. How do you feel about it? Retired but still not Tired?
