OMEGA has utilized its expertise in ceramic craftsmanship to develop the Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Black" timepiece. This impressive watch combines the functions of a GMT model and a diving watch, making it suitable for both professional and recreational use. The inclusion of a blue color on the watch represents the last visible hue in the ocean at a depth of approximately 275 meters. The matte ceramic case of this remarkable 45.5 mm timepiece is meticulously crafted from a single block of ceramic. In a pioneering move, rubber has been artfully integrated with ceramic to create a distinctive unidirectional bezel. This innovative approach is reflected in the use of blue rubber injections to color the OMEGA logo on the crown and helium escape valve symbol. The black ceramic dial of the watch incorporates a GMT ring, blue Arabic numerals, and brushed hands and indexes made from 18K white gold with a white Super-LumiNova coating. OMEGA has also introduced an oriented caseback for the first time, ensuring that the engraved wording on it is appropriately aligned. This achievement has been made possible through the implementation of OMEGA's newly patented ceramic Naiad Lock technology. Additional features of the timepiece include an alveol pattern on the screw-in caseback and a black rubber strap adorned with blue stitching and treated with an anti-bacterial solution. The Planet Ocean "Deep Black" watch is water-resistant up to 60 bar and is powered by the highly accurate OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8906. In order to achieve the esteemed Master Chronometer status, the watch has successfully completed the eight stringent tests outlined by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
