OMEGA has leveraged its expertise in ceramic technology to create the Seamaster Planet Ocean "Deep Black", a sophisticated timepiece designed for deep-sea exploration. This impressive 45.5 mm watch combines the functionality of a GMT model with the durability of a diving watch. The incorporation of red accents symbolize the first color that becomes invisible at depths of approximately 5 meters. The casebody, meticulously crafted from a single block of ceramic, features a unique unidirectional bezel that combines rubber and ceramic for the first time. The bezel showcases a vibrant red color for the first 15 minutes, while the remaining diving scale is made from Liquidmetal™. The OMEGA logo on the crown and helium escape valve symbol are also accented with red rubber injections. The black ceramic dial showcases a GMT ring, along with red Arabic numerals, and hands and indexes made from 18K white gold. These elements are coated with a white Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility. OMEGA has introduced an oriented caseback for the first time, ensuring that the engraved wording is perfectly aligned. This is made possible through the use of OMEGA's patented ceramic Naiad Lock. Additionally, the screw-in caseback features an alveol pattern, while the black rubber strap with red stitching and anti-bacterial treatment completes the chic aesthetic. The Planet Ocean "Deep Black" is water-resistant to 60 bar and is powered by the OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8906. To attain the coveted Master Chronometer status, it has successfully undergone and passed eight rigorous tests established by METAS (The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology).
